For every Dakota Johnson (“Ben and Kate” and “Fifty Shades of Grey”) there are tens of wannabe famous people simply not making the cut. Living Colour brings its signature noise to Annapolis

There are certain bands which elicit an immediate thought of their most famous song. Anyone who thinks of Kiss almost immediately jumps right to “Rock n’ Roll All Night.” Beyonce on the brain normally entails “Put a Ring on It.” Some bands, such as Radiohead, absolutely refuse to play their first and biggest hit “Creep” during live shows. Then there’s New York City-based Living Colour, a band of city boys formed by British-born Vernon Reid in 1984, which unequivocally embraces its success and does not shy away from playing the hits. Cubano flavor heating up On Stage with Tiempo Libre this week!

If you’ve got the tiempo, Rams Head On Stage has a batch of Cuban flare ready to be served up Jan. 29 when Grammy –nominated Tiempo Libre visits Annapolis for an 8 p.m. performance. Based in Miami, the Cuban natives who make up Tiempo Libre are known for their live performances, during which spectators will get a taste of timba, R&B, jazz and pop music. The group, supporting its 2011 Sony Masterworks release “My Secret Radio,” have performed in front of thousands of people at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and the Playboy Jazz festival.
