Boo’z Hump Day Helper “What day is it?”

So I am driving into work today and I am listening to the radio as most of us do. But first I have a confession to make.  I am a scanner, I listen to whatever station comes in next and listen until I am dissatisfied.  Some days it’s talk radio, others it’s the HOT MIX station that your teenagers listen to in the morning.  Today I find myself listening to a small station, and they say it is “National High School Radio Day”.  I thought to myself ‘I had no idea this existed’ and exactly how many of these official “Days” are there. So with a little research from my good buddy (insert search engine here) I found out.  Did you know that April is: National Humor Month International Guitar Month Keep America Beautiful Month Lawn and Garden Month National… Read More >

Boo’z Humpday Helper-changing gears

About a week ago I made the snarky comment on social media that it such a relief to walk my dog with only one coat on.  Also on this walk I noticed the first birds I had seen in months, looked up at the trees and saw they were starting to bud.  “It’s almost here” I thought to my self.  Then last night I was able to take the pooch out in shorts, yes I said it, SHORTS!! I know all of us here in the mid-Atlantic are sick of this scene, but keep you heads up kids we are almost done with this.  It is the time of change, clocks have moved forward and even on the coldest day you are starting to hear birds chirp. 60 degrees one day 30 the next, we are definitely the transition period… Read More >

Q&A with Stephen Kellogg – March 5th at Rams Head On Stage

Stephen Kellogg will be at Rams Head On Stage on March 5th supporting his latest album, “Blunderstone Rookery.”  The Massachusetts native recently returned from two separate week-long Caribbean cruise concerts, and he’ll finish up a few dates stateside before heading to Europe with Matt Nathanson.  Check out what Kellogg had to say about his busy year following the break-up of his band, The Sixers, the release of his first solo album since 2002, and the unique journey that one experiences during a life as a professional performer.  For those who are unacquainted with this very underrated songwriter, be sure to check out the live performance of his song, “Thanksgiving.” ME:  You just got off the Rock Boat Cruise.  Can you describe what that was, and what you’re up to now? SK:  I’m in Connecticut now.  I got in at 5:00… Read More >
