Boo’z Really Random Thoughts

Sorry Kids, really wish I had just one subject to talk about today but my brain is entirely to scattered. So many things going on I just don’t know where to start. The weekend is here, I still don’t have plans, maybe ZZ Ward at Rams Head Live? Or Scott Ian at Rams Head On Stage?  I just can’t decide. As you can tell I am not only scattered but torn as well.   As to be expected with Mercury in it’s last day of retrograde. Next week will be easier for all of us with the Never Sober Tour Featuring  Juicy J, Travis $cott & Project Pat on March 4th. Then turn around the next night to see The Randy Rogers Band with Wade Bowen and Stoney Larue. Like I said scattered, but I hope you can focus on your plans… Read More >

Boo’z Humpday Helper-‘Falling”

As the summer comes to a close here in the mid-atlantic we get warm days and cool nights.  This marks the end of the summer outdoor concert season, this gets me thinking of all the amazinfg music I have seen this summer.  Although the fall is one of the best times to see music in our region, summer tours wrapping up, winter ones just getting going.  Baseball is going into the playoffs, football is getting into full swing, the seasons they are a changing.  But music, music does not see seasons.  Yes ther are trends as to where the music is played, but music marches on.  My summer was filled with great music like Sting and Pretty lights, Fun. and Darius Rucker.  But i still have a few things to look forward to, a sold out Ke$ha show at Pier… Read More >

I Saw Them First!

Just like the cast of the  Sopranos or a Christopher Guest flick, great support makes the star shine even brighter. Some of my favorite  concert memories are of great bills, from top to bottom, and often bands I hadn’t heard of at the time. For example, the Red Hot Chili Peppers “Californication” tour back in 1999 featured the Foo Fighters who were riding high on their latest release There’s Nothing Left to Lose and their enormous smash hit “Learn to Fly.” Those two bands sold the tickets. However, the opening act for this show was this tiny little band from the UK called Muse, who had just put out their debut album Showbiz. Guess what? That little three piece band that barely had any stage space to perform on in 1999 is HUGE  in 2013. Fourteen years, a handful of… Read More >
