Candi Belgian Tripel Takes Home Gold At World Beer Cup

This past Friday at the Craft Brewer’s Conference in Denver, Colorado Dominion Brewing Co.‘s Candi received the Gold Medal in the Belgian Tripel Category at the World Beer Cup. There were 59 entries in the category but only one could win, beloved Candi! Candi was released at Rams Head restaurants this past October as one of our fall seasonals. It’s a favorite among many, brewed with Belgian Candy, and weighing in 9.5% abv. Saaz and Halltertau hops give this Belgian-style Tripel a clean, floral aroma. Golden in color, the soft sweetness of apricot and pear linger nicely against a dry finish with minimal hop bitterness. The Monday Hangover: The Weekend in Instagram Photos

It was a crazy awesome weekend for Rams Head. Our restaurants started the weekend early last Thursday with a beer release party and GiGi’s Farmhouse Ale was flowing.  Our taverns threw a koozie kick-off night to celebrate the official beginning to our patio season with live music. They held Kentucky Derby viewing party’s on Saturday and Cinco De Mayo was definitely a party all day with margaritas. Pier Six Pavilion officially kicked off their season with two shows this past weekend and as always Rams Head Live and Rams Head On Stage were rockin’ the house. Rams Head Tavern Savage Mill Names Michael Urquhart Head Chef

After recently spending time at Rams Head Tavern Annapolis, Mikey is back in Savage! Michael Urquhart was born and raised in Dundee Scotland and apprenticed at The Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews, a five star hotel located on the Old Course Golf Course, the oldest and first golf course in the world. In his time there, he rose to the rank of Demi Chef. Uquhart moved to America in 1997 and his first job in the U.S. was at Rams Head in Annapolis. After spending two years there he became Sous Chef at Rams Head Tavern Savage Mill and eventually became the Executive Chef where he remained for nine years.  Urquhart left Rams Head for a short time and entered the corporate world.
