Wedding Season Is Upon Us

This weekend is the filling in a wedding sandwich for the Rams Head Family. Last weekend, our beloved Rams Head On Stage manager got himself married off to our equally beloved Rams Head Tavern bartender. Not that I’ve been stalking them on Facebook, but they looked superbly happy heading off on their honeymoon. Then you’ve got a double-header this weekend with the Rams Head On Stage Sound Engineer/guitar wielding half of Swampcandy (we’re a little sad he shaved those mutton chops… they made Tuesday nights at the tavern so old-timey) is marrying the photographer of his dreams, and we’re hoping there will be some serious serenading happening. Earworms and Eager Anticipation

So I know it’s a strange image, but that’s really what they’re called (I promise)… those songs that just rattle around in your head. For days. I’ve got a rare and deeply unfortunate ability to get up to three songs stuck in my head at one time, so I’ve usually got an earworm is an understatement. That’s why I work here. And while hours of Gangnam Style can keep me awake in the morning, it’s not exactly what I want in my head all day. Fortunately, the lounge suits dancing through Korea have been replaced in the last couple of days by ZZ Ward. Signs of Summer

Even though it’s cooled down quite a bit in the last two days, enough so that I’m contentedly sitting out on the back patio, it’s unmistakably summer. Everyone’s talking about their vacation plans, or sitting out in the fresh air, and for some reason Reggae has become a big part of my life again. Those of us who were lucky enough to see the Jimmy Cliff show here a couple of weeks ago know that there’s some serious Reggae coming. By the end of next week, we’ll have had not only Jimmy, but also the Original Wailers for the first set of Reggae shows we’ve ever hosted.  Are we excited about Al Anderson and the band coming?
