Rams Head betting on Black Eyed Susan Day

On May 15th, 2015 The Rams Head Group had the honor of presenting the 43rd Running of The Hilltop Stakes at Black-Eyed Susan Day at Pimlico. One of Pimlico’s oldest stakes races, the Black-Eyed Susan was first run at Pimlico in 1919 as the Pimlico Oaks. The name was changed in 1952 to complement the Preakness and to acknowledge the Maryland state flower. The mile and one-eighth test, for three-year-old fillies is traditionally run the Friday before the Preakness. The race was first graded in 1973 and has been a Grade II event since 1976. The Black-Eyed Susan has long been recognized as the middle jewel of the traditional filly Triple Crown, which also includes the Kentucky Oaks Stakes (at Churchill Downs) and the Acorn Stakes (at Belmont Park). Only three fillies: Wistful (1949), Real Delight (1952), and Davona Dale… Read More >

Rams Head Celebrates 25 Years

Quietly and without fanfare, the Rams Head celebrated 25 years in business on December 15, 2014.   But in January, after the busy holiday season, we turned up the music and celebrated! The night was celebrated first with a private event from 6 to 8pm.   Delicious food from our new Tavern menu was served, Fordham & Dominion Brewing passed out samples of award-winning Candi, music was enjoyed from The Geckos and the jazz duo Oreo. Around 7pm, a few toasts were made!  Welcoming the crowd was President and Owner, Kyle Muehlhauser who thanked all everyone who supported us over the last 25 years.  The city of Annapolis declared December 15th Rams Head Day with an official proclamation read by me, Erin McNaboe.  Chef Greg “Cowboy” Richardson drove up from North Carolina where he owns/operates his own restaurant, Hutch & Harris.  He… Read More >

#ramshead12days, 2013 revisited

3 years ago in one of our harebrained moments during our weekly marketing meeting the idea for Rams Head 12 Days of Christmas came up.  In speedy elf fashion, two weeks later we launched the inaugural Rams Head 12 Days of Christmas  which features 12 Days of big elfin’ prizes!  And why do we add this extra chaos into our already crazed month of fa-la-la-la-la… well, because we love it! And sometimes in our lovin’ it, we let our creative … err, mind-wandering… brains really get into it.  Which is why I am revisiting the ridiculousness of our video line up from the 2013 edition of the Rams Head 12 Days of Christmas. 2013 Intern Gerard: Congratulations to December 19th's #ramshead12days of Christmas Giveaways winner! 5 more prizes to win, enter at ramsheadtavern.com/12daysofchristmas A video posted by Rams Head Group… Read More >

Silopanna Music Festival and Headcount.org get you Registered to Vote

On Saturday, August 16th we’ll all meet up at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds for all day celebration featuring amazing musicians, homegrown talent, artisans all at the Silopanna Music Festival.    But one vendor, in particular has a huge call to action.  That’s right, Register to Vote! I asked Headcount.org to write us up a little bit about their call to action and what we can expect at Silopanna 2014 from them.   I know they’re rounding up some goodies to bring to the event – rumor is, diffraction glasses which will only enhance The Flaming Lips epic light show! But in the meantime, if you check them out at Nissan Pavilion at some upcoming shows (ahem, Dave Matthews for example), you can get signed up to win some tickets to Silopanna Music Festival.   You know, the festival named for Annapolis spelled backwards. … Read More >
