On Saturday, July 25, 2015, Mike Posner brought his guitar, his piano, and his heart to Rams Head On Stage.

Most of you are likely familiar with Mike in the capacity of his radio hits from a few years ago (“Cooler Than Me”, “Please Don’t Go”, and “Bow Chicka Wow Wow”). Don’t worry, I was, too.

It doesn’t seem uncommon for artists to have one big hit and then disappear, so when I found out he was going on an “Unplugged” tour, I was intrigued. I never was a diehard fan of his, but I’d enjoyed it enough where I thought I would at least check out what this latest project was all about.

Track #1 (I Took A Pill In Ibiza)… I’m hooked.

I’m just a singer who already blew his shot
I get along with old timers cuz┬ámy name’s a reminder of a pop song people forgot

Let’s be real for a second. Who is ever that honest in the music industry anymore? Who has the courage to look at their reflection in the mirror and admit their flaws, let alone announce them from a stage in a room full of people?

Mike’s show was in a storyteller format, but it was not necessary for him to narrate throughout the night because the songs speak for themselves.

It was a truly beautiful, intimate evening and I would encourage anyone to see him live or listen to his new music. We all want to feel comfortable in our skin and are always discovering more about who we really are… If anything, Mike Posner’s truth will empower you to find your truth.
