The Girl at the Rock Show: Magic Man

Hello, friends!

It sure has been a while since I’ve written… allow me to re-introduce myself: I’m Sam, I promote the shows at Rams Head Live and Pier Six Pavilion, and I also attend a lot of shows. I am the girl at the rock show.

On March 12, 2015, I ventured to the Black Cat in DC for the first time ever! When you go to shows so often, it’s refreshing to see a new venue every once in a while. I went to see a band called Magic Man, who I actually discovered this past summer when they opened for Panic! At The Disco at Pier Six!

Magic Man

I heard it back at the Pier, I heard it at the Black Cat, and I hear it every time I listen to their album: an infectious  happiness. I wouldn’t be surprised if they opened for someone like Passion Pit or Matt & Kim in the future. All I’m  saying is they’re on the up and up. Check out “Texas” and “Waves” if you  really want to be carried away to synth  heaven.

A band called Panama Wedding opened and I got there juuust in time to hear their last song, “All of the People”,  which is also their big hit right now.

Overall, it was a fun night in a new place for me! In my next post, I will tell you about my adventure to another new venue.

– Sam
