Cubano flavor heating up On Stage with Tiempo Libre this week!

If you’ve got the tiempo, Rams Head On Stage has a batch of Cuban flare ready to be served up Jan. 29 when Grammy –nominated Tiempo Libre visits Annapolis for an 8 p.m. performance.

Based in Miami, the Cuban natives who make up Tiempo Libre are known for their live performances, during which spectators will get a taste of timba, R&B, jazz and pop music. The group, supporting its 2011 Sony Masterworks release “My Secret Radio,” have performed in front of thousands of people at New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and the Playboy Jazz festival.

Tiempo Libre, formed in 2001, have accumulated critical acclaim as well as some throughout the mainstream circles — the group has performed on “Dancing with the Stars” and the short-lived (it’s not their fault!) “Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.”

The group released its debut album “Arroz con Mango” in 2005 on the Shanachie record label.

Thursday, January 29 will mark their first appearance at Rams Head On Stage.
