Doors: 7pm Show: 8pm

Firefall is a light style of music melding country, fold and easy rock creating a sound of their own. Their music is full of softened chords and harmonies, and when radio was saturated with light rock in the mid- to late- 70’s Firefall was right in the heart of it reaching #9 on Billboard’s Top 40 with the gentle, “You Are the Woman.”

This unique band has stayed true to the founding vision throughout their 30 year history! Their dynamic live performances gained them a huge and loyal fan base that continues, even now, to grow and grow! During their live shows the band nurtures and expands on their distinctive melodic sound. Their much loved hits are faithfully recreated with freshness rare in live performances of such classics. Listening to their music definitely made me more relaxed; and who isn’t trying to relax on a warm summer night!?

Hiatt and his band, The Combo, have gained a reputation for captivating crowds at their live shows as The Tennessean reports: “He prowls the stage, delivering the bluesy stuff in a whiskey-burn howl, shouting the rock stuff and fronting a formidable band that can turn on a dime, from ballads to bombast.” John Hiatt’s career as a performer and songwriter has spanned more than 30 years and everyone from Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, BB King, Bonnie Raitt and Iggy Pop has covered his work. Amy Ray
Thursday, December 4th 2014
Doors: 7pm Show: 8pm

Amy Ray’s progression as a singer/ songwriter has taken her up and down all of the switchback trails of the South, from the dive bars of Saturday night to church on Sunday mornings with some coffeehouses and big arenas on the way. She is always game to follow a thread of melody into new and rugged territory and she is coming to us at Rams Head On Stage! Amy is best known as half of the Grammy winning Indigo Girls folk- rock duo and has produced her own solo album, Goodnight Tender.

As most of us we have great stories to tell from our childhood, well… so does Amy Ray. As a young girl Ray would sneak into bars with high school friend, Emily Sailers, and play covers of their favorite music until they started writing their own work which turned into the Indigo Girls! Composing and performing rich folk music rich inside and out making them a successful duo that no one could match!

As a soloist she brings her own style of country rock to the stage along with her band. There is country in her soul she can’t escape and why should she when she is so great at what she does! Her latest record marks a dramatic departure from those formats and themes, though her vocals, even when snarled at high decibels, always convey a rending ache that serves folk, punk, country, or any refrain tinged with pain. She has a unique sound that will make for a great show! This definitely isn’t something I want to miss out on.
