The Original Family Dance Party: Baby Loves Disco

Baby Loves Disco

The Original Family Dance Party, Baby Loves Disco,  is coming to Baltimore on Saturday, April 5th and you need to join the fun!

According to their website, Baby Loves Disco is a community event that brings kids together with kids and parents together with parents.   In detail, this Philly-born company travels the country transforming the hippest nightclub into child proof discos as toddlers, pre-schoolers and parents take a break from the routine playground circuit to let loose for some fun!   Baby Loves Disco is an afternoon dance party featuring real music spun and mixed by real DJs blending classic disco tunes from the 70s & 80s guaranteed to get those little booties moving and grooving.  No Barney tunes allowed!

As a Mom of two myself, I can’t wait to bring my little tykes to their first Baby Loves Disco event in Baltimore on April 5th at Rams Head Live.   After watching “BLD” on Shark Tank last year, I couldn’t wait for their return to Baltimore.  The fun spills out from all corners of the club: bubble machines, baskets of scarves and egg-shakers, a chill-out room (with tents, books and puzzles), diaper changing stations, a full spread of healthy snacks and dancing, LOTS of dancing.  Started by professional dancer (and professional mom) Heather Murphy, the idea was to create an alternative to the pre-packaged world of entertainment for young kids. “We’re parents, we’re always looking for something new and different to do with the kids,” says Murphy whose lifestyle (like most of the baby disco parents) was changed when she gave birth to her 4 year old son Max.

Now that we’re all set to attend, it’s time to think about what to wear.  Our Pinterest Board “Rock Star Kids” has lots of great suggestions, some of which comes from Baltimore’s own

(Sorry to the hubby – this just gave me a great excuse for some shopping for the boys!)

And for the Mommy or Daddy who hasn’t been assigned the designated driver, the bars will be open for some “mommy & daddy juice”.

The best part about Rams Head Live? The parking garage with an elevator directly above!  So park at the Frederick Street garage (15 S. Frederick Street), come straight down the elevator and you’re in our lobby.   You can even leave the jackets or umbrellas in the car!

So, I mustache* a question, will you be joining us on April 4th?
