This uber-talented octet recently graduated from Severn School…but don’t their age fool you. Their sound will immediately take you back to the 70’s, heavily influenced by James Brown, Bill Withers, Issac Hayes and more. Vocalist, Davey Jones charismatically captains his sailors of funk through a blazing Soul/RnB revival that has to be seen to be believed!

The group recently took top honors at the 15th Annual Anne Arundel County High School Battle of the Bands this past January and just released its debut single, “Titanic Splash”.

Popa Chubby
Popa Chubby (a.k.a. Ted Horowitz) is a New York blues singer and guitar player. His angry and aggressive style of blues is influenced heavily by Willie Dixon. To this day the musical influence of Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye are ever present in Popa’s music.

Bad Influence Band
Bad Influence, the premier Washington, DC band, has been playing their style of blues-infused, high energy music since 1988.

Ever-growing crowds turn out for the band’s scorching hot and sinfully addicting shows, which are charged with a masterful blend of sensuously rough edges wrapped in soulful smoothness, riveting rock currents and potent shots of swing and American roots music.

The award-winning Bad Influence features Bob Mallardi on bass and vocals, Hohner endorsed artist Roger Edsall on harp and vocals, Epiphone endorsed artist Michael “Jr” Tash on guitar and vocals, and Sonor endorsed artist David Thaler on the drums.

Dan Hicks is widely acknowledged as one of the defining figures in American roots music. Having earned a reputation as a true original with his signature eclecticism and humor, Hicks continues to carve his way through a number of genres from proto-psychedelia to western swing and jazz, from tin pan alley to country blues — all the while cultivating his own unique sound.

The original Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks recorded five ground-breaking and Billboard-charting records for the Columbia, Blue Thumb and Warner Bros. labels. They toured worldwide, and Dan appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine three times.

Throughout the 60s and 70s there was no one who sounded at all like Dan Hicks & the Hot Licks, and remarkably, over 40 years later, there still isn’t.

Hicks’ new album is currently available, a live album from his 70th Birthday, “Live at Davies” with special guests!

Rusted Root has sold more than 3 million albums worldwide. Formed in Pittsburgh by singer/guitarist Glabicki in the early ’90s, Rusted Root’s worldly style quickly charmed fans of roots music and world rock. Rusted Root released the 1994 platinum selling breakthrough When I Woke, which featured the hit songs Send Me On My Way, Ecstasy and Martyr. Not long after, the band scored on tours with Toad the Wet Sprocket, Santana, The Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band, The Allman Brothers Band, HORDE Festival and, perhaps most notably, the highly coveted support role on the landmark Jimmy Page/Robert Plant reunion tour.
