Outdoor Dining at Rams Head Tavern Annapolis & Savage Mill

There’s nothing better than spending a spring or summer day dining outdoors enjoying a meal with friends and family, sipping on your favorite beverage. One of our favorite things here at Rams Head (in addition to beer) is our outdoor seating.

At both Rams Head Tavern Annapolis and Rams Head Tavern Savage we offer two different dining options. In Annapolis, Rams Head offers seating on our Cafe located on West Street’s sidewalk. You can bring your dog to enjoy our doggie menu or just sit and watch the foot traffic. Bands playing at Rams Head On Stage park their tour buses in front of the tavern so you might even spot a celebrity (Kevin Bacon, anyone?). The patio behind Rams Head also offers outdoor seating. The wisteria vine, believed to be the oldest in the county, provides shade during the summer months in addition to our umbrellas. Catch the live jazz on Sundays during brunch while enjoying our $10 bottomless bloody mary bar. The patio is the perfect place to enjoy an early Sunday afternoon. On Mondays and Wednesdays during Spring and Summer you can catch live music on the patio from 5-8 PM. Plan ahead on beer release nights (the first Thursday of every month from 4-6 PM) as the prized tables fill quickly.

In Savage, enjoy the spectacular views of the old cotton mill from the deck located behind Rams Head. One of the best outdoor dining spots in Howard County,  sounds of the Patuxent River can be heard below. (Sidenote: while you’re at Rams Head be sure to stop by the Bollman Truss bride on your way out, it was the first successful all-metal bridges designed and consistently used on a railroad in the United States). The Rams Head patio at Savage Mill is a great place to spend the day with your dog. Order a bowser beer (non-alcoholic treat for dogs) while enjoying a pint yourself!

Whichever outdoor dining option you choose at Rams Head, know that the food is great and the beer is always cold!

Have these dog policies changed? We tried to take our very quiet dog to the patio at Ram’s Head Savage in the past and were told we could only bring her to the courtyard in front.

      Hi Christine,

That is correct, dogs are only allowed on the patio (the courtyard out front) at Rams Head Savage. They are not allowed on the back deck. There are plenty of tables to enjoy a meal with your pup with the same great service from the tavern, umbrella’s for shade, and even a menu specifically for dogs with ‘bowser beer’ and meals such as meatballs or beef tips and rice. We hope you’ll come visit us again with your furry friend!
