May Day, Annapolis.

On May 1st each year, more than 200 Annapolitans businesses and residents celebrate the annual rite of spring by adorning their buildings with baskets of flowers for May Day.  The event, hosted by The Garden Club of Olde Annapolis Towne, has been in existence since 1956.   At the Rams Head, we dust off our gardening gloves and creatively put together a basket for the event!  Over the years, we’ve had some traditional, some extra creative, but always trying to be reflective of our business roots.   So come on down to Annapolis today, stroll the streets, take in the fresh air and enjoy the beauty of the May Day baskets.

Personally, this is one of my favorite days of the year to be an Annapolitan, and therefore a great day to visit memory lane with a few of our photographed May Day baskets from years past:

Happy May Day, everyone.  And if you’d like to see more photos of our day-to-day fun, follow us on Instagram here.
