Beer Release: GiGi’s Farmhouse Ale

Meet Gigi, she’s packin’ a farm girl punch!

On May 2nd, Rams Head is releasing Dominion‘s Gigi’s Farmhouse Ale. From 4-6 PM you can purchase a $5 commemorative glass and first fill up. Additional pours are only $1.

GiGi is the french word for ‘girl who farms” and was the first Bomber Girl in Dominion’s 1940’s inspired pin-up series released in 2012 for the first time (the other two being Morning Glory Espresso Stout and Double D IPA).  If you really want to get in to the history, Dominion uses a French word for a Belgian-style beer because the Wallonia region of Belgium borders France and, consequently, speaks French.

Farmhouse Ales got their names from house recipes that were served to farm workers during the harvesting season. GiGi is a belgian-style seasonal beer and packs a farm girl punch weighing in at 7.2% abv. “GiGi is a bottle conditioned, Belgian-influenced farmhouse ale. The flavor is sweet at first, due to the use of pilsner, oat, and torrified wheat malts, but the subtle influences of Bravo, Select, and Cascade hops add spice and a little mystery to her personality.”

Travis, our graphic designer, created some awesome artwork for our beer release glassware. Check out the front:

Mike Urquhart, our head chef at Savage Mill, created a delicious pairing for this Thursday’s beer release: Farmhouse Baked Mac N’ Cheese Bites for $8.
