Firkin Fridays at Rams Head Tavern Annapolis

Every second Friday of each Month, Rams Head Tavern Annapolis will feature a special Firkin from Fordham Brewing.

A firkin, which is derived from the Middle Dutch word vierdekijn (meaning fourth), is a small barrel of beer that is one-fourth the size of a regular barrel of beer. Firkins are dedicated to housing beer that has not been cold-filtered, pasteurized, or carbonated by outside equipment. It’s naturally carbonated by its resident yeast and resembles the process in which beer was produced hundreds of years ago.

The Firkin will be tapped at 5 o’clock (which is a cool thing to witness if you’ve never seen it) and the first beer will be poured at 6:30.
