Rams Head Live and Pier Six Alumni Among Grammy Nominees

The Lumineers, who played Rams Head Live June 1, are nominated for two Grammy Awards

The Grammy nominees came out this past Wednesday night – and the nominees included a number of Rams Head Live and Pier Six Pavilion alumni, as well as a few acts currently on our calendar.

Bonnie Raitt and the Avett Brothers each put on memorable sold out shows in support of their new albums at the Pier last summer, and each were nominated for Best Americana Album. Also nominated in that category were the Lumineers (sold out Rams Head Live in June), who also recieved a nod in the Best New Artist Category. The competition for Best New Artist will be steep – also nominated alongside the Lumineers are another 2012 Rams Head Live alumni Alabama Shakes.

We’d like to give congratulatory shout outs to artists in nearly every genre who have played at Rams Head Live, including Eric Church and Dierks Bentley (Best Country Solo Performance); The Roots and Nas (Best Rap Album); Deadmau5 and Skrillex (Best Dance album) and Anthrax, Halestorm, Lamb of God and Megadeth (Best Hard Rock Performance).

Missed these shows? Well, you still have a chance to see two Grammy nominees coming soon: Shemekia Copeland, nominated for Best Blues Album, opens for Robert Cray tomorrow night and Ed Sheeran. Sheeran’s show is SOLD OUT, but we are giving away one set of meet and greet tickets as part of our 12 Days of Christmas promotion.
